Justin Lauer is the Principal Technology Evangelist at Tintri, Inc., and is activley leading the charge to establish the newest category of storage, Virtual Machine Aware Storage, within the industry.

Justin is a VCP4 and VCP5, a 6-time VMware vExpert (2009 – 2014) and a former Leader of the Memphis, TN VMUG.  He has spoken at VMworld in 2008, 2009 and 2013.  His sessions have focused on the basics of building disaster recovery, protecting the virtualized datacenter and increasing virtual machine density.  Justin delivered the Customer Keynote at the Chicago VMware Virtualization Forum in 2009 and has presented at dozens of VMware User Group meetings throughout the United States.

With more than 15 years of experience in Information Technology consulting and management, Justin has held positions and led teams across a range of sectors on the customer and consulting/vendor sides of the industry.  He is a past member of the VMware SMB Advisory Council and he previously served as a Technical Advisory Board member for a software development company specializing in Electronic Medical Records.

Prior to joining Tintri, Justin led the Commercial Central vSpecialist team at EMC, focusing on VMware and enabling the fully virtualized datacenter.  Before EMC, Justin was the IT Director for a large private medical practice where he took the organization from 0% virtualization to almost 90% in under 24 months.  Under Justin’s guidance his team also co-developed a software application that automates searches for patient data among disparate systems and marketed and sold the software to other healthcare clinics across the United States.

Those who know Justin know he is truly passionate about the IT industry, specifically virtualization, and evangelizing all the benefits that virtualization offers.  He loves helping customers and partners with their virtualization journey and sharing his real world experience.
